Milan Fashion Week is over (Tuesday, February 22, 2022 – Monday, February 28, 2022) leaving us with many astonishing moments. After the two rough previews years, we start getting back to normal due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which means shows full of an audience once again. This brings hope to designers and the fashion industry in general, and more events will be scheduled.
The event for the Autumn/Winter 2022 collections presentations started last week on Wednesday, February 23, and kept going until yesterday, Monday, February 28. After months of hard work, each house has shown an impressive result with the new collections that aim to surprise the market. So let’s move on to some remarkable moments of the high fashion houses.
Creative director Kim Jones inspired by Fendi SS00 and spring/summer 1986 designed the new collection. The wardrobe was all about pastel colors and earth tones, the transparent fabrics were dominating and buoyant garments were giving a hint of fantasia and mystery. Nonetheless, there was empowering femininity with a more traditional aspect of office clothes.
Let’s see some photos:
An incredible runway with a very special setup. Music from 2001: Space Odyssey and wardrobe from a fairy tale: Beauty and the beast. Moschino “transformed” the models into cute furniture parallelizing them with the furniture of Beauty and the Beast story.
Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons
Though the collaboration of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons is recently it seems to be going very well, judging from the outcome! Huge sweaters and jackets with broad shoulders, feathers on coats and dresses. Transparent skirts and dresses with floral details. More masculine tailoring is detected on the wardrobe but without losing its femininity.
The runway’s intense colors and the fusion with the music beat offered a more energetic atmosphere that totally fitted the collection. Mini skirts and dresses with corsets were starring the show. Also loose pants and big jackets are worth paying attention to. It is notable as well the accessories that the models wore, such as the metallic belts with meanders and Versace’s logo.
